How This Burnaby Guide Is Made
This page explains how burnabycasinos.com is put together. It covers who writes it, why it is sorted by game, how facts are checked, and what the guide leaves out.
The site is an independent guide. It takes no bets and runs no accounts.
Who Writes the Guide
Ilse Moreau is a pen name. Behind it sits a small editorial team that writes and checks every page.
Burnaby's room is Grand Villa Casino, at 4331 Dominion St. A guide sorted by building would be one page and a great deal of scrolling. So the guide is sorted by game instead.
Readers tend to arrive knowing what they like to play. Each game page says where it is dealt, what it is in plain words, and what to know before sitting down. Neighbouring rooms appear only when a counted fact supports it.
How the Facts Are Checked
Every number in the guide comes from one of two places: the venue's own pages or BCLC's pages. Each one is stored with its source and the date it was checked.
When a figure cannot be confirmed, it is left out. If two sources disagree, that figure is dropped too, and the page simply does not list it. A gap is better than a guess.
Dates in this edition were checked in October 2026. Take the ID rule at the door. Since June 26, 2023, every person entering a B.C. casino must show government-issued photo ID.
What the Guide Does Not Do
- Ratings, stars and scores are not used. The guide describes rooms and games without grading them.
- Casino offers of any kind are not covered here, and inner pages carry no paid links.
- Tips on winning are not offered, and neither is talk about which game pays better.
- Crowd levels are not described. Without a counted fact, the guide says nothing about how busy a room is.
Questions
Is Ilse Moreau a real name?
Ilse Moreau is a pen name, not a real person. It signs the pages written by the guide's small editorial team.
How often are the facts checked?
Each fact carries the date it was last checked. This edition was checked in October 2026. A fact that cannot be confirmed again comes off the page.
